Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to DotTide for Android and iOS. DotTide saves game settings and progress on your device. It also uses Google Firebase for usage measurement and crash diagnostics, Google AdMob for advertising, and the platform stores for Premium purchases.

1. Data controller and contact

DotTide is operated by Uslugi Informatyczne Jakub Mateusiak, a sole proprietorship established in Poland. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “the developer” refer to that business. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

For privacy questions or requests, email jakubmateusiakapps@gmail.com.

2. Information handled by DotTide

Game settings and progress stored on your device. DotTide saves:

  • game setup choices, such as mode, board size, difficulty and related preferences;
  • tutorial completion;
  • Tide Mastery records, including scores, coverage, pace, captures and earned milestones;

These records support the app on your device. Game progress is not uploaded to a developer-operated cloud-save service. Selected game settings and results are separately transmitted through analytics as described below.

Usage information. Google Analytics for Firebase processes app-instance and available device identifiers, launches, sessions, engagement, app and operating-system information, device information, and approximate geographic location derived from network information. DotTide sends screen views, game mode, board size, difficulty, and result information: outcome, end reason, score, completion percentage and turn count. Analytics also supports automatic in-app purchase measurement. Identifier availability depends on the platform and device privacy settings.

Crash and diagnostic information. Firebase Crashlytics and supporting Firebase services process crash stack traces, app state, installation and session identifiers, app version, device and operating-system information, and related diagnostics. Analytics activity breadcrumbs can accompany crash reports.

Advertising information. Google AdMob processes information such as IP address, approximate location, available device identifiers, ad views and interactions, and diagnostic or performance information. This supports ad delivery, personalization where permitted, measurement and fraud prevention. Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) processes advertising privacy choices and presents applicable messages.

Premium purchases. Google Play or Apple’s App Store handles payment. DotTide receives purchase status and transaction information to activate, check or restore Premium ad removal. Android background recovery can contact Google Play to acknowledge a purchase. The app does not receive payment-card details or send purchase tokens or transaction payloads to a developer-operated purchase server. Automatic analytics purchase measurement is separate from the entitlement check.

Feedback email. Selecting “Send feedback” opens your email app. A message is sent only if you choose to send it. Your email provider and our Google email service then process your sender details, subject, message, chosen attachments and mail metadata.

Store ratings and reviews. DotTide may request a native store review prompt. If you submit a rating or review, the store handles your submission under its own privacy terms.

Opening this policy. The hosted page receives technical request information to deliver and protect the website. Website processing is covered by our Website Privacy Notice.

3. How information is used

  • to remember settings, tutorials and game achievements;
  • to understand gameplay and feature use;
  • to diagnose crashes and improve reliability;
  • to deliver and measure ads, manage advertising privacy choices and prevent fraud;
  • to activate and restore Premium purchases;
  • to answer feedback and privacy requests.

4. Third-party services

  • Google Firebase: Analytics, Crashlytics, Installations, Sessions and supporting transport services. See Firebase privacy information and Analytics data collection.
  • Google AdMob and UMP: advertising and advertising privacy choices. See the Android and iOS advertising data disclosures and Google Privacy Policy. Advertising partners participating in the applicable consent message are described there.
  • Email providers: your chosen service and our Google email service when you send correspondence.
  • Google Play and Apple’s App Store: purchases, restoration, ratings and reviews handled by the relevant platform.

We have accepted the applicable Google, Firebase and AdMob terms. For customer personal data covered by the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms, Google generally acts as a processor on our behalf. Analytics and advertising are governed by their respective terms.

5. Storage, retention, and deletion

Local settings and progress remain in the app’s storage until updated or removed. You can clear DotTide’s app storage on Android or delete the app and its data on iOS. Offloading an iOS app preserves its documents and data. System backups and device-transfer features may retain or restore copies, depending on your device and provider settings.

Google retains Analytics data according to the applicable Google Analytics service settings and its documentation. Retention can vary by data category, and aggregated reports may be retained differently. Firebase states that Crashlytics keeps crash stack traces, extracted minidump data, and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems. See Google Analytics data retention and Firebase privacy and retention information.

A feedback email may remain in our inbox until we remove it during periodic manual cleanup. We do not guarantee that a feedback email will remain available after 30 days. We do not operate an automated deletion system. Email providers may retain their own copies according to their policies and backup processes.

6. Your choices, consent, and privacy rights

  • You can remove local app data using the operating-system controls described above.
  • You can edit or abandon feedback before sending it.
  • You can open “Privacy choices” in the Home menu to request the available Google advertising privacy form.
  • You can manage available advertising-identifier and tracking permissions through device settings.
  • Premium removes banner and between-game ads, but does not disable Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics.

DotTide is intended to offer personalized advertising where permitted by your choices and applicable requirements. UMP manages advertising privacy messages; the available choices depend on your location and the configured message. Non-personalized or limited ads can still involve data processing. Advertising choices do not control the separate Firebase analytics and crash-reporting services.

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics start automatically in the current version. DotTide does not ask for separate in-app consent before starting them and does not provide an in-app switch to disable them.

Rights under the GDPR. Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal data, and object to relevant processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Contact jakubmateusiakapps@gmail.com for privacy questions or requests. We assess requests using available information and provider tools. We cannot access or delete records stored only on your device. Firebase uses pseudonymous identifiers that we generally cannot associate with an email address, so we may be unable to locate a particular Firebase record.

7. Security

Local records use app-private storage protected by the Android or iOS sandbox. DotTide does not add separate application-level encryption to those records. Google documents encrypted transport for Firebase and Mobile Ads data. This policy page uses HTTPS. No storage or transmission method guarantees absolute security; protect access to your device and email account.

8. Intended audience

DotTide is designed for people aged 16 and over and is not directed to children under 16. Store age ratings and regional availability may differ from this intended audience. If you believe someone under 16 has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can assess the situation and handle the request.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when features, services or data practices change. The current policy will be posted at jakubmateusiak.com/dottide/privacy with a revised last-updated date.
